another example why 3d printers arenât always the best answer. The amount of work involved to duplicate this part is excessive, especially when compared to the strength aspect of such a model when printed with PLA. I suspect that ABS would not be strong enough to justify the effort to duplicate it.
As an academic exercise, perhaps for students to practice SolidWorks, it might be âfun,â but not as a production item.
I wouldnât bother doing that unless I was very desperate. There is a 1/10 open source R/C project on Thingiverse where the R/C car is designed from the ground up to be FFF compatible. Thatâs probably a better outlet for the energy than trying to FFF a part that just wasnât intended for it.
