Can someone tell me what tha f*** is happening?

Can someone tell me what tha f*** is happening? When I export a solid object from Google Sketchup to cura, it creates walls and deletes some of the mesh. For example here, it adds a bottom piece and delets the magnet holes I created. In much need of help!

Exporting from SketchUp is whacky and does weird stuff if there’s the slightest issue with your model. Go back to the model and look around to see if there’s any weird lighting issues, that means that something isn’t a solid.

I don’t know exactly what is going on but there were enough warning for me to not use SketchUp to create model for 3D printing purposes… Perhaps this is why… Sorry I’m not really helping here…

Im gonna switch from Sketchup, but then I would have to learn a hole new program… I have redone the hole object by “painting” over the old object, and fixed all the issues i could see. (I saw one) But the problem persits, only the problem is somewere else. What program should i use insted? I would like to go bigtime if I would to switch program, is Cad the way to go?

You can use netfabb to repair it first and that works. Would still recommend using a different modeling program though. I recommend Fusion 360

Yeah, Fusion 360 is awesome, like a cross between SketchUp and Solidworks

Alright, thanks everybody!

+1 fusion 360

+1 Fusion 360 - it took me only a week to learn enough to be proficient

To check the Model I used tools like:
http://www.susolid.com (the free version) or
Extension | SketchUp Extension Warehouse

I switched to Fusion 360 almost two years ago and I’m still very happy with my decision.

Are you sure that spiral wase is not active?

What do you mean by “active”?

@enhydra When I try the free version, it does not give me any errors. Or so I think.

@Alexander_Frisk I have done a fair bit of design with SketchUp. It has this funny little habbit of making incomplete lines. It is extremely picky about how you draw the part in order to keep it solid for STL export. How fast do you need this done? If you want a working STL file like say in about a couple of hours. I am willing to remake the file for you. Would need all the nessecary dimensions. If interested, message me on Google Hangouts. The link is in my profile.

Well it says
a) there is no solid and
b) there are a bunch of ungrouped edges.
Grouped them and you’re a step further.

@Alexander_Frisk If everything is OK, then it should look like this: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VacQIMtVn2o/U4cpc9NQVCI/AAAAAAAAMzw/gYlLIiswL9E/s1600/OSCoolean5.png

There is a few add ons you can get to sort it out.
My fav is

solid inspector.

Then get clean up. Both by the same bloke.

You can always put your Models into 3d builder to fix them. I once made a magic penholder and the files were made wth SketchUp. They were totally broken when I downloaded them. 3d builder fixed them perfectly. I would also recommend that you use fusion360. It is the perfect program for me.
