I just got a smoothieboard 5xc But no matter what i do when i try to connect it to my laptop (with windows 10 on it) it will only show up as a unknow usb device.
I have tried and find a solution but havent been able to, so i hope somebody here can help me.
I have it connected with a very short usb cabel i can also hook it up to a power suply but only the red and orange lights will light up.

Just for debugging, can you try connecting to it from a different computer ?
About the LEDs, I’m not clear on what you are saying. What leds exactly are turning on when it is connected only via USB, and what leds exactly are turning on when it is connected only to the power supply ?

The 3.3v lights up when connected with usb and vbb lights up when connected with the power suply but lights 1-4 wont light up. I have tried connecting with an other computer (also with windows 10) but it gave the same message that it was a unknow device and it wouldnt show up in this computer. I will try connecting it with my computer at home when i can see if that one will see it.
I have tried a different computer different cable i reinstalled the micro sd card but it still wont work.
I found the problem in the troubleshooting guide but the fix there wont work and i havent solderd anything on the board. the-33v-led-is-on-but-none-of-the-1-through-4-leds-is-on
Please anybody have any ideas o how to fix this.
Who did you buy the board from ?
I got it from Filafarm i send an email a week ago but got nothing back from them.
