Cell phone stand I designed and printed today. I still want to give it a vapour bath. 4 hrs 4 min print time, 0.2mm, 5% infill
This is impressive work.
Are the STL’s available? What material, what temp, what speeds???
Any chance of sharing the .stl or the original cad file? I have been looking for a decent stand for my nexus 5. Contemplating building my own, but I like yours very much.
Not available yet but I do plan on tossing it on thingiverse, abs, 230°C extruder, 110°C platform, 60mm/s extrusion speed. I will update as soon as I get a chance to upload it.
Any chance that you can share details about the software that you used ? I was looking for some way to achieve the bended structure similar to your design. The only way I found is linear extrusion , but I am wondering if there is a better way. For instance, if you take a plane then punch holes like in your base and bend it , you can get holes wrapping through the curved section as well.
looks nice
Very nice
@Eldar_Khaliullin I was thinking of just doing the same idea I did with the base but just putting the holes on an angel and it would have continued during the curve
Are you not concerned that the semi-circular bend that supports all the weight is (from what I can tell) printed such that the bending stress will cause the layers to delaminate? It may be fine under the static load of the phone sitting on it, but I’ll bet that if you drop the phone from too high onto it, or lean your hand a little too much while operating, that U bend will fail. If it does, try printing it so that the diamonds are in the Z axis, I expect that would help.
I hope that it works beautifully, and that I am wrong. I really like the aesthetic, and look forward to seeing the vapor polished result!
