@Chris_Russell of the Practical Printing channel will be live streaming his upgrade of the Wanhao Duplicator i3 Printer with a Cohesion3D Mini Controller to make safer and improve the performance of the machine.
The stream will start in a few minutes at 3pm EST/ 12 PT.
Please join in! I’ll be in chat.
(Disclosure: I make the Cohesion3D boards, and sponsored this stream by sending Chris the upgrade bundle he is using.)
@Greg_Dimas depends on what you are going for. The Wanhao Duplicator i3 is a cheap decent option but you need to tinker and upgrade it to get good performance.
Right out of the box? Prusa mk2, Lulzbot, Ultimaker, perhaps. Still have to tinker…
I’d like to be able to print more than just PLA and ABS… possibly polycarbonate, nylon???, etc…
I think that inability to adjust temps would frustrate me since there are many good materials that work in 350 to 450 range, at least in traditional extrusion.
I think if you ask in the main 3D Printing group instead of just commenting on my post you’ll get a wider range of experiences than just my own. Best of luck!
