I have problem in getting response from my smoothieboard. It is connecting. But not responding to all the commands.
I got my smoothieboard from a friend and it did not have a microsd in it. So I downloaded the bin file from Smoothie-edge.bin. Uploaded the firmware.bin file on the sd. loaded it onto the smoothie and usb powered it. The sd automatically flashed and the bin file turned into cur file.
I then created a config file from ConfigSamples > Smoothieboard > config. Made one change in the thermistor pin 2.7 to nc : Here is my conifg override file -> pastebin.com / Eeh1r4q8
I uploaded this file on SD card, connected to smoothie via Simplify3D and used load [file] command to override this config file.
Let me know if this is correct. Do I need to have a any external power source connected to make the smoothie run. I only have a thermistor hooked up to the board.

Ok so :
You shouldn’t worry about config override files, just normal config files, for the beginning. Remove any config-override files you have, just edit the normal config file.
You don’t need to load any config files, they are automatically loaded.
What commands is Smoothie not answering to ?

You do not have a configuration file on your SD card … so it’s normal that nothing will work.
