Conundrum. I need to make 2 adjustment while testing the difference it makes to my one machine. Microsteping and I want to compare marlin to repetier. I found a model that clearly shows where my printer needs improving and it’s surface finish. They are a little blocky and looks almost anti alias like in the reduced detail
Which do I do 1st?
Incedently the ramps in this machine will be swapped to a smoothy based board and this one is going into the cheap i3 build @Thomas_Sanladerer is doing.

Ahhh shit… So turns out I must have thought about Microsteping before. All of them 1/16 already. Still makes life easier I guess

So I changed to repetier firmware and reprinted I’ve used the same gcode for all prints. It seems to be better but I’m still not happy. There are random zits on the surface they are in the same place every print. Next is the motherboard to see how the upgrade there does. Because I’m benchmarking against a whanhou i3 which is astounding me with how well is does and about the only thing I can still think it may be is controler. The i3 has a melzi 16 bit board and I run ramps so hoping 32bit makes the difference.
