Cool technique for adding mating/gluing flanges to models that were cut in half for printing. Advantages over other techniques:
- Reusable OpenSCAD framework that’s quick to apply
- No need to model a dowel system; works even on models with no place for dowels
- Works on models you didn’t design; requires no additional model rework and tolerancing (which may not even be possible)
- Built-in clamping system; no need for a jig
- Built-in mating alignment
- Split models can avoid commonly-poor surfaces from printing on supports
