Nice. I will keep a watch out for updates.
My friend and I are trying to build a CoreXY as well. We are using t-slot for the frame (we got in on the Misumi deal). The hardest part for us is figuring out the belt path. Also we were looking at the head shuttle. Any particular reason you went with three points of contact?
5$ cheaper then 4
In all reality Ive been running with 2 with longer bearings and its been fantastic. The bearings I’m using this time are about 8mm shorter so I just didn’t feel good about only 2. It would probably be fine though.
Belt path isnt as much as an issue as belt tension. If they are not very close you will have major dimension issues. This is the issue Im working out now.
Cool, we were thinking two long ones, or four small ones. I look forward to your updates.
I have built several of these corexy and I would say belt path is very important. I have reprinted the idler a d motor mounts just to move them a mm or two to get correct belt alignment. So don’t over look this issue. Your left rear inside bearing my have an alignment problem. You will know when installing the belts. Good luck.
Wayne what kind of problem? the lines looked good in CAD but I havent built one of these yet so what what should I be looking for?
It may just be because mine is set up differently, not sure. I have the L R inside idler more towards the outside so it will line up. It would be interesting to see this with the belts on. Maybe i am all wet and i hope that i am.
I was going to play with modeling belts tonight so well see
Great i will be looking for it.
