Could I get someone to take a look at the attached SVG? I’m trying to engrave the country fills. When I import the SVG into LW4, and I create my different paths the raster path never generates. I end up having to export the countries as a bitmap and import it separately to get it to rasterize. I’m hoping someone else can give it a go to see if it’s an issue on my end.

Here’s the finished map done with a bitmap for the country engraves. I couldn’t get the bitmap to line up for some reason.

+Peter van der Walt Thank you!

Laser fill works great!

Increasing the beam diameter/scan gap makes for a neat effect.

Interesting. I’ll take a look at the SVG when I get a chance because if there is an embedded image it should pick up as a raster. If it’s all paths though laser fill looks to be the trick.

The end product looks awesome @K1111

Yep, everything in the file is a vector path, so you won’t get the raster engrave option. Laser fill as you found is the ticket. Nice job.

I agree. I was curious to look at the original concern. I know you answered it for him, but my curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to work through it as well :slight_smile:

The more help on documentation the better!

Here’s a better one showing the increased scan gap. I think I posted the wrong photo above. And just for future reference, I’m a she. :slight_smile:

@K1111 That’s a neat effect.

Gorgeous scanline effect there.

Yes, Kim, SHE does wonderful work!

+Peter van der Walt Do you think it might be possible to get diagonal engraving in laser fill some time in the future?

@K1111 beautiful work !
And indeed an option to set scan lines angle could allow for interesting variations

@K1111 yes would indeed be awesome with an option setting angle for the fill!

+Peter van der Walt No problem, Im getting that man a beer!
