Couldn’t wait for the parts to arrive for the heated bed so printed a part untuned on the floor of the printer. Great feeling to see it actually print something. Only printing at 100mm/s but so much faster than my UP printer. Thanks for looking

Looks like it’s working for you
Pretty much anything is faster than the UP printer (except another UP printer
HaHa Chuck. That made me laugh.
what are you using for a hot-end to melt plastic so fast?
Well done
Thanks Jim. Aaron, I have a custom end and the heater block is 25mm diameter x 12m thick copper. It has a 24vdc 40w heater cartidge which is PID controlled by the smoothieboard. The NTC thermistor is located 1mm from the nozzle to give the best temp readings. The nozzle used is a makerbot 0.4mm with M6 thread. To ensure a good flow of filament I have a continuous ptfe bowden tube running from the extruder to flush with the rear end of the nozzle so essentially the nozzle is the melt chamber. Thermal paste was liberaly aplied to the nozzle thread, heater cartridge and thermistor before installing to ensure propper thermal conduction.
Hope that helps
