Crane style x axis assembly done. Having the belt hidden inside 2020 is pretty sweet looking.
Next need to spend some time in fusion 360 figuring out how to attach @Deltaprintr mini hotend to the openbuild mini v wheel gantry plate

very nicely done…
if i thought my design skills were lacking before, now i’m sure.
have been working on my X axis (2020 with mgn12 based), i have my motor mount and belt idler (with tensioner) up top. it works pretty well, but i’ve been feeling it’s a rather heavy/clunky design, and this looks so much better/lighter!
would you be willing to share the design for those?
also - what are you using for an idler? is that a delrin idler? or a printed one? kinda hard to tell from the photo…
The idler pulley is from openbuilds. The silver printed part is also from someone open design over at http://www.openbuilds.com/builds/indie-i2.1976/ which I thought is a very beautiful printer.
It lists all the STL and DXF for that printer.
The only STL that I will probably need to design would be the hotend holder to the x gantry
thanks! i just got my mind blown! what a fantastic design…
though taking a look at the specs and comparing to my machine’s restrictions - i might not be able to use it… but i’m definitely “borrowing” some inspiration and making modifications to my clunky design…
@Step_Cia nice to see my Indie i2 designs can be incorporated into other builds as well
keep up the good work.
I would have use your x motor mount as well but I need to reuse my nema 17
