Custom Web UI done for CNC

Hi,

I was convinced to try a smoothieboard as controller for an Openbuilds OX CNC 1500x1000mm. The USB connection is impacted by noise so I’m using the ethernet interface (one of the main reasons for me to use the smoothie)

On a CNC we have different UI needs than a 3D printer, so I’ve modified the standard webUI, creating a custom one dedicated to 3 axis CNC including Zeroing axis, XYZ position feedback and position override. I also added a confirm for the Play link before starting file playback. Is anyone out there interested in a copy?

Cheers,

Paul

Definitely interrested. Would you mind posting it on github ?

Cheers.

Hi Arthur,

No problem. Do you mean my github, and post a link here, or is there a contrib section in Smoothieware?

Cheers,

Paul

Yep, your github is fine.

Do you have a screenshot or video ?

Cheers

OK, you’ll find files at github.com Pangloss-Labs/smoothie-cnc-ui

(sorry, not allowed to post a link yet)

I’ll grab some screenshots tomorrow in the lab.

I’m interested. I’m using Smoothie for a laser cutter at the moment and tend to use it in a similar way. (I’m used to Mach3 for a CNC mill and laser.) I agree about it being very 3D printer focused.

I use Mach3 on another CNC. I missed a lot when I first started with Smoothie and the CNC.

Now I’m basically missing the 3D G-Code preview and tool changes.

Here’s the link to the files at github.com Pangloss-Labs/smoothie-cnc-ui

Hi,
I would be very interested in a copy as i’m building a CNC router with smoothie.
Thank you for now

Link is above in this thread. Help yourself!

Cheers,

Paul

Added it to http://smoothieware.github.io/Webif-pack/ thanks a lot !
