Dear FastLED Users.

If someone needs music rhythm information for your animation you may use free Android application “Disco Lights BLE”.

It extracts music rhythm from the cell phone/tablet microphone signal and passes the information to the external
device over Bluetooth Low Energy( BLE ) in real-time. Additional the application provides music basic emotional
component as well total signal intensity. The application does not require any configuration.

We put together demo Arduino project at https://github.com/IrinaRxx/arduino_disco_lights_ble. Minimal project
requirements are Arduono Uno, nRF8001 Bluetooth Low Energy Breakout from the adafruit and your LED device.

The Android application and arduino project source code are fully free for any use.

P.S.

Of course the rhythm detection take some time (2-10 seconds, dependence on music composition and rhythm period).

If you want that your animation also reacted on aperiodic beats or immediately react on the music content before
rhythm information is available you may use input signal intensity information, which provided by the application.
