Designing an user interface…
How much information fits onto a 128x64 OLED?

Very clearly there is not enough information on that.

I demand it has the current temperature of my coffee listed as well!

(but in all seriousness, beautiful display, wish more of the projects I did allowed for a GUI of sorts rather than memorized “menus”)

I totally agree - invisible (yet IR controlled) menus suck, and ONE status led 13 sending different light sequences indicating where I am makes it not really better. The serial monitor is also no solution - it needs a damn computer. So these tiny OLED is exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully I will not end up with too many menu pages… Next thing to do: replace some numbers (where the precise value doesn’t matter so much) by bargraphs.
Uptime, fps, coffee temperature and similar stuff will find place on a debug screen.

Ahhh sweet. I like it.

That is very welcome thing to see around! Btw, about serial monitor - there are DIY project with similar small LCD screens that are just that - serial monitors.
Some of them:

@Stefan_Petrick You really need to look into these if you like the oLED stuff: https://www.adafruit.com/products/1673

Imagine a bar graph that changes color to represent the upper or lower range of a number? I have one of these units, and I really like it. With an on board SD card, you load images to the screen directly or run animations off data structures from the card.

Look into 2.4 gHz radios (NRF24L01+) for wireless communication to your leds. I used a highly optimized library called: https://github.com/TMRh20/RF24
