Cool. You are making the r2d2

It’s my birthday print^^

Now you only need 20 more parts

this looks awesome already

Chirp beep boop

printing 0.3mm layers @ 50mm/s is critical… will reduce layer thickness to 0.24mm for the rest of the model… @Peter_Parnes Less parts than the Makerbot Tractor^^

Happy Birthday:)

Got a link to the model?

R2D2 body?

3drucken.ch blogpost will follow once I finished printing all parts

What is this blue tape? It seems you use this as a platform for the print? I currently trying out hair spray on a Kapton tape base - it’s okay, but I’m always open to better solutions =)!

The 3M Scotch 2090 blue tape is kind of a standard for us printing with @Ultimaker

painters tape.

Masking tape…

I guess you use it to assure the print stays on the platform and doesn’t peel itself off it. I’m not satisfied currently with my prints on the common Solidoodle 2 platform (Kapton tape)

I use kapton and hair spray for ABS and Blue tape for PLA and belive me i use now blue tape for anything…!!

Cool, congratulations! You better boost the printing speed that all the parts are finished by the end of your birthday.

I was already pushing the limits of flow by going 50mm/s with 0.3mm layers. Extruder kind of broke with this print. Had to replace the bearing in the extruder after that.
