Did a short video with assembly instructions for the 28BYI-48 Extruder.
First time I did such a video, so it’s full of imperfections.

Would love to see how it does after a kilo or so of filament.

What electrical mods did you do? Cut the 5th wire on the PCB to conver to bipolar?

What was your source for the mk8 hobbed pulley? When I tried a similar experiment however long ago, the groove on my mk8 pulleys were too deep for 1.75mm filament; the hobbed pulleys would block each other from gripping the filament.

also, thank you for sharing!

Double motor, no idler? I can see how that would work… have you tested it yet?

very smart design, can’t wait to see it in a printer and have some measurements for fine-tuning. Congrats.

@Elliot_Foster I sourced the pulley on amazon: https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B00RT0JU32/ref=mp_s_a_1_25?qid=1464857771&sr=8-25&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=mk8+extruder

@Ryan_Carlyle as Daniel pointed out, I applied the bipolar hack. Would you be interested to see a “how-to” video on that?

Where can I find the stls? Thanks

Thanks!!!

@Tinkering_On_Steroid was just wondering if you also rewired the coils in parallel instead of series (for speed) or simply did the bipolar mod.

Awesome job…

@Tinkering_On_Steroid where did you get that springs?

Very clever. I would love to see an actio video after a few weeks of use.
