Did I break my Smoothieboard?

Hello,

I was playing around with my new Z probe and testet the grid leveling. Suddenly everything stoped working. Even the LEDs stopped working. Only the VBB LED is on. The 3.3V and the greed LEDs are glowing a little bit. But not as brite as normal. The pausebutton is blinking once. I connect the board via USB to the computer and disconnected all other things (like endstops and the motors). When I connect the board to the Computer the LPC chip is getting hot really fast… not a good sign :frowning:
Do you think there is a chance of repairing my Smoothieboard? Maybe a known issue where I only have to change one part?

Thanks for your help

Hey there.

From your symptoms, it sounds very much like the microcontroller was damaged, I’m really sorry to hear that.

You could try replacing it ( the part number is LPC1769 ), that *could* resolve the problem.

Cheers.

thanks for your quick reply,
that are bad news for me. I hope I can handle this on warranty… So I can continue printing with this awsome board!
Cheers
