Did somebody else have problems with the +Ultimaker shop lately?
I waited two weeks for my last order, and right now I’m waiting for an order dating from 9th of may. While the invoice says: lead time 1 to 3 business days.
Funny thing is: the store says that my current order is ‘ready for shipment’ for almost a week now .
You’d think that this was easy to clear with the sales support, however they aren’t helpful (by not answering). It’s totally annoying.
Whatever went wrong there, this was probably my last order with Ultimaker.
I think it’s fair to tell you, because you might, like me, need your supplies in time. And maybe this even sparks some kind of reply (or even a delivery!) from @Ultimaker .
PS: Good thing is, that I learned how easy it is to convert an Ultimaker Original to 1.75mm filament
i hope you initially wanted to buy ultimaker because of quality, and i am thinking they are always sold out due to that … which is a good thing. i wont be surprised if due to business competition, bigger companies attempt to buy off all the supply chain under every one elses printer, now that we know there are big players trying to appear to be “friendly”. but i am just running off my brains in text mode here lol.
but this is what i noticed, every batch of new oven fresh ultimakers are always sold out, or did i noticed wrong?
I also had to wait 1.5 months until they shipped. They had problems with a supplier that made the hot-end’s. I ordered a dual extrusion with the Ultimaker Original in February and i still haven’t cot the second extruder. But the printer works perfectly and they forget to send the Ulticontroler and that one came in 4 day’s after I called.
In short communication about delays is bad but when they can ship it they are good and the product is also good.
Quality was my reason for chosing my Ultimaker, second to it being luckily available immediately on ebay.
Personally I don’t know any better (available as a whole) 1000€ printer.
And I totally respect that it’s difficult to scale up +Ultimaker production.
But unexpected waiting times on simple transactions like buying stock parts or PLA are a different story to me.
Since time is of importance, I plainly can’t afford to be their customer. I can’t always make an emergency backup order somewhere else (when it’s already too late). And i don’t want to have a printer unrepaired for weeks, just because of some unannounced logistics problems at the other side.
By the way: Dont trust the backorder dates on the shop.
PS: I just received the first reply from Ultimaker. On Facebook. According to it, something went wrong in their logistic process and their support team will get back to me after the weekend. This is at least … promising Good thing: First sorry from their side.
see that now with MKI trying to play patent games, i wont be surprise MKI will send legal cease orders to all competitor sub supply factories … they are really a bunch of xxxholes
. 20 years later maybe MKI is all we will see in shop windows, such is the terrible evil intent of capitalistic businesses. then there is the option of making parts in CHINA, 99.99% of chinese factories do not sucumb to such letters, or so i have heard … long live ultimaker ! lol
