This road system is terribly inefficient!

Ben Norris, this is a ‘close’ or’ ‘cul de sac’. A number of these can fit in well into a larger neighbourhood.

It provides no extra access but each house is closer to more traffic. Space that is wasted for duplicate roads could be bigger garden or houses

It is a ‘CLOSE’ means the roads serve only traffic generated by the houses. Very low volume, I am surprised why Joe Mitchell is not answering you.

We built the model, to the clients plan. The project was for Taylor Wimpey.

@David_Mesa I know what a close or a cul de sac is, however in this instance it does not allow for any more houses than without

I would guess if it is based on real plans that it is only like this because they are cramming in extra houses amongst some which are already standing
