Digging into the issue of a practical maximum data rate on the WS2811/WS2812… found this really nice detailed description of the inner workings of the Neopixel pwm…

I found that very interesting but would like to understand the actual visual impact of increasing the data rate to the Neopixel up to and beyond it’s PWM rate.

Can anyone point me towards a good description of that effect ?

What I’ve seen is glitching of various kinds, color flahses, but sometimes also blacking out. It’s pretty random in my experience.

@Daniel_Garcia Same timings for the apa104? And why do you not list it in your wiki?

Yes, same timings for the apa104. As for why not listed in the wiki, simply because I haven’t had the time to bring the wiki up to date with the state of things. (I have a full time job and a number of things in life that have cut back on the amount of time I have to work on things related to the library - and functionality related issues get that time before wiki updates, especially for a chip that’s as minor as the apa104).

@Daniel_Garcia No explanation necessary, just wanted to know for sure that there’s no diff in functionality…
