Do any of you hard core guys split objects into multiple parts to print with different settings and perhaps using multiple machines for the sake of having speed where you can get it and detail where you need it? Just curious.
I was planning on doing the seperate parts thing for a pc case.
All the time. Most of it because they don’t fit the print are, sometimes just to speed things up. Sometimes I mix different technologies, intricate design features of the part printed on SLA, the rest printed on FDM, Or part of the model printed and the rest cnc milled…you can never run out of combinations, you will first run out of technology’s available or accessible.
Sure. I run parts/splits off multiple machines with different filaments, settings, and nozzle sizes to get the detail, speed or strength I need in a particular area all the time. So long as I calibrate the filaments for their thermal and dimensional properties the parts always fit together or are interchangeable.
I do that in a single print with S3D lol.
