Do I need a 60w laser to cut 3mm masonite/hardboard?

Do I need a 60w laser to cut 3mm masonite/hardboard?

A k40 should cut it if correctly aligned

I’m doing it. It’s pretty much all I do. I use 40w. I’m still working on alignment too. You NEED air assist if you want to do it right. And a better vent fan.

I’ve already ordered a 60w machine that has a wing that sticks out 17 inches. Are you doing the cutting at full power?

Nope 12.5mms/10ma with 4 passes. But I can do it in two in 5mms.

I bought this. $880 for a 60w

That includes shipping. I don’t know anything about using it. I hoping I’ll get enough help, on this site to make it work

880 is a sweet deal. American right?

Dollars. I need to make these.

So Canada then.

No, its $1110 with shipping

What is the best way to get tutored in the ins and outs of how to go about operating one of these laser. This not for hobby use, I need it for work.
