Do you print straight to the build plate OR print on kapton/blue tape?
Which printer? Which build plate material? Which printing material? Which… Etc pp
ABS on bare glass with hairspray. sticks better than kapton or PET tape.
My experience is a different one. With hairspray nothing sticks. I have tried min 5 different types of hairspray. I think there is only a limited amount of hairspray types that is good for printing. This, I think, is the reason why the tip with hairspray is so controversial.
I use dilute kids PVA on glass, that way I can wipe it off with a wet cloth.
I print on the backside of a mirror. Plate on 60°C for Pla. Good adhesion during print, releases easy when back on room temperature !
@Sven_Eric_Nielsen Aqua Net strong hold hairspray. ABS first layer temp 225.
For pla blue painters tape on non heated bed.
For abs hair spay on heated glass works well
Abs slurry on heated glass bed works well.
We have an Afinia it’s an Americanized UPS printer.
I print abs on hair spray on a heated glass bed.
Blue painters tape with PLA - unheated bed
Hairspray on glass with heatbed for ABS. Printbed 110C ABS 230C, nothing sticks
Gluestick on cold glass, so far with PLA only. Works amazing
Thanks for sharing everyone! Seems like a question dependent on filament type and the printer. On the Rep2 I tend to print straight on the acrylic build plate. Rep 1 can print both ABS+PLA, so blue tape for PLA and kapton tape for ABS. Haven’t been able to get hairspray to stick to a glass plate, will keep experimenting!
Prusa i2 with PLA on hot glass
ABS on hot glass with aquanet hairspray. PLA on cold or warm glass (temp dependent on which PLA )with aquanet or with blue painters tape.
