Well, the very negative review was clear and focused. It seems to paint a pretty clear picture: buyer beware.

Good point. I figure the motors probably suck too. Seems like a quick and cheap way to get started though. That said it wouldn’t be very quick if I had to hassle around with returns.

One of my main reservations is that I’d like to pick up an Arduino Mega ADK to mess around with for other things.

Those stepper motors looks small, and their performance isn’t listed. Probably http://57oz.in.
I ordered once from ebay cheaper (used) stepper motor set and they were like this one. Now I order those that mention what power output they have - lesson learned.
