Does anyone if petg absorb moisture from air like abs? Specifaclly eSun Petg, it clicks from time to time my extruder, momentary clog but if fix itself, but im kinda worry, already printing a 6 hours model, any ideas?

for mid print servicing, you can brush off the drive wheel if it’s accessible easily. other than that not sure if moisture is going to case skipping drive gear. Not sure about PETG and moisture hopefully one of the more experienced can answer that. I am using some that sat around through a historical wet winter, not in a box or anything, and it seems OK.

Yes it does absorb moisture, but usually not enough to jam the hot end. Moisture in your PETG mostly causes weaker, more brittle prints. (Polyethylene terephthalate is chemically broken down by water at melt temp.)

What kind of print settings are you running? PETGs often need to be printed a bit slower than you might be used to.

Another thing to look for is globs of excess plastic building up on the nozzle, then eventually glomming onto the print and leaving a big blob. When the extruder runs over that blob, it’ll click-stall.

240(was 245) / 85-90c bed @ 55mm/s, it was a little tricky at the beggining specially for the excesive heat sensible that the petg its, but one i dialed the setings its becoming my go to filament of choiche

Every filament is hygroscopic to a degree. I find PETG to be not too bad but if I have a long print ill bake mine first, although I’m told that my experience is out of the ordinary and PETG is very hygroscopic.

Depending on the exact blend of PETG/copolyester it show stronger or weaker effects of moisture absorption. I’ve had polyester materials not care at all about moisture, others only produced super flimsy prints after a few weeks in the open.
Store dry if you can.
