Does anyone know if it’s possible to effectively 3d print one of those nylon ball return pieces inside a ballscrew nut; SFU 1604?
I’ve printed PLA bushings. But had to go through a few iterations to get the tolerances right.
I may give it a shot, but I will likely try using nylon or similar filament. Ideally an SLA printer might get a more detailed and defined model, but I’m not sure and I don’t have access to one of those. I’M concerned pla would warp in heat.
I printed replacement parts for the inside of a dishwasher. A fairly hot environment. They outlasted the motor. Those were PLA. But higher temp plastics are better if you are worried about heat.
I may give it a shot with pla to see
I don’t think heat would be the issue. It would be the durability. But nylon may work well, I have never used it. Gonna get a roll here soon and try it out.
