Does anyone know if there will be people selling printer parts at MRRF? It will be my first time going. I am thinking of bringing my CNC mill, but it is only good for small cuts of 10x10 inches. I do not want to log my printer since it would need to lay down in my car and it might mess something up. It would be sweet if here was cutting and printing services and all the parts or sale on site.

@NathanielStenzel there will be some stuff from sponsor/vendors for sale yes. I have no way of knowing any more details than that though. It’s mainly a hang out fun fest 
In 2015, @Joe_Spanier was working on one of his printers there. A lot of other people were working on their machines as well. Near the end of MRRF that year, someone had put out a box that said “If you can use anything in this box, go ahead and take it”. I grabbed a 5:1 geared down motor that I used for a Z axis on one of my builds. While I didn’t see any outright “selling”…I did see a lot of users offering up help and parts to other people working on machines there.
#MRRF2017 is a lot like a huge hangout that some vendors kind of sometimes come to. I kinda feel like MRRF is what “makerfaire” should be, but isn’t.
Rumor is Lulzbot should be making another announcement there this year? @LulzBot confirm/deny?
Are you looking for something specific? Word is there will be a swap meet table. I don’t know how it will be run. I suspect there will be random parts of all kinds but you need to ask around.
Atomic will be handing out free samples but only to people that bring printers to the show, one per person I think.
@Jeff_DeMaagd heh. If I brought my printer, it would be in my car or hotel room. I will not have a table.
@Jeff_DeMaagd I like to window shop and occasionally actually buy something. If I get another printer, it will probably be a cartesian style one. If I upgrade my Rostock Max v1, it will probably be with an enclosure. The best chance of my buying something would be if I found a cartesian style printer that I liked the looks of or if there were aluminum extrusions for sale.
@NathanielStenzel I don’t know if you’ve been there before. All attendees get a table if they want. If you’re there to sell things, then that’s when they want you to sponsor the event.
@Jeff_DeMaagd nope. I have never been there. I am also going alone, so I would have nobody to watch my table while I checked out other tables.
@NathanielStenzel Think of MRRF as a giant hangout of like minded people, that muggles sometimes show up to. I wouldnt even worry about people watching your table while you walk around.
@Joe_Spanier if I do, it will probably be by SeeMeCNC and ask him to watch my stuff. LOL Or maybe Thantik. SeeMeCNC might be an idea because I have one of their older printers. Thanking him on Facebook and G+ would naturally follow. Still…not sure if I wish to move my printer from its perch.
@Branden_Coates ha! yea we have had some printers get killed. RCL will have a “holy shit” tool compliment like normal as well.
I wouldn’t mind watching your table while you window shop. I did it for a few people in 2015 while they got lunch, etc. There are going to be a lot of people there that you’ve met here in the community, and I suspect they’d all help out too. The whole place is very laid back, lots of friends who are just meeting in person for the first time.
@ThantiK cool. Now I just need to decide if I want to bring my toys. Most of the problems that I had with moving my stuff was probably due to bumpy roads. I do not expect the problem for this trip. I also need to clear up space in my PT Cruiser if I am to haul anything or have more than one passenger (which I do not expect passengers, but you never know).

As for me, I have collected odds and ends and tools to help people make printers. I have 3mm filament if someone can use that. I bought it on accident. I still do not know if I will bring my printer and/or cnc mill or not. I am bringing a hand held router and drill among my tools, so if someone has a cut part to copy and he wood, we can make the parts that way. I even have nichrome wire.
@J_O11 , I have a broken Rambo board so if you want to refurbish it and give it to someone, just ask.
