Does anyone know of an active Open Source SLS or SLA printer project that’s active. I know there are about 3-4 essentially dead projects.
The @Printrbot Simple (maker and metal) are pretty much open 100%. Drawings are at Youmagine:
@Andre_Courchesne1 i’m pretty sure the Printrbots are not SLA/SLS machines…
@Andre_Courchesne1 Printrbot is an FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) type printer… the OP was asking about SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) or SLA (StereoLithography) printers. I don’t know of any open source SLS or SLA printers at the moment.
Oups my error, read too fast.
Peachy is still grinding away (http://www.peachyprinter.com/).
As for being open source, the founder has publicly requested a full out boycott of their product should it ever go closed source… http://www.peachyprinter.com/#!ethics/c2208
There is this guy: http://www.3ders.org/articles/20141007-engineer-constructs-his-own-sls-3d-printer.html
Not sure if it’s going to be open source. I guess you can ask and help him out.
Thanks Joe for mentioning us. Yes mUVe 3D is completely open source. We offer SLA laser and DLP systems. Check us out and definitely email if you have any questions!
While it isn’t super easy as a diy build the b9 creator is fully open source… Hardware and software. http://b9creator.com/source-files/
We are working on one… Just getting up to speed though. Files will be a couple months away I am afraid. Dlp, very small form factor but very fast.
