Does fastled supports sk6812 rgb led strip?

Does fastled supports sk6812 rgb led strip? Big thanks! :slight_smile:

Yes it does.

Yes, they are almost identical to WS2812

@Brian_Lewis thank you sir :slight_smile:

@Leon_Yuhanov sir, i will use ws2812 in my codes to define the sk6812 led strip? I tried using sk6812 but doesn’t turned green in the codes. Big thanks sir! :slight_smile:

Yeah im pretty sure you just define it as ws2812

Yeah im pretty sure they are the same as the WS2812 just in a 3535 package as opposed to 5050 package. Im designing a board for them lol

@Joem_Deocampo You can use SK6812 in your code. It doesn’t turn green in Arduino but it still works. @Cristian_Martinez They come in 5050 and 3535 sizes and their timings are a bit different from what I’ve read.

I use lots of SK6812s and usually just define them as WS2812s. Not had any problems yet…

Should i stick with WS2812B if i can get them in 3535 size?

@Cristian_Martinez I’ve only ever used the SK minis. I think whatever you find would be though. I have less issues with flicker when using an ESP8266 and SK6812 and don’t have to disable interrupts but YMMV

@Brian_Lewis Never had problems with the ESP and SK6812. have used both 3535 and 5050…but ill admit i am not using fastled.

@Leon_Yuhanov I don’t have problems with the ESP and SK6812 either. The issues are with ESP and WS2812 (for me at least). From what I’ve read on the Github issues for FastLED. Daniel is still working on tweaking the timings for doing interrupts when using these chipsets with the ESP.

@Brian_Lewis Good day sir! can i ask for help? how will i use esp8266 based wifi shield as server and a client? i wish to have one controller and two clients (sk6812 led strip) communicating. how will i do that? Big thanks sir! :))
