Does your spouse get along with your printer?

My wife’s nicknamed my printer ‘The Mistress’ due to how much time I spend on it.

I suspect a Mistress would be less stress, and possibly cheaper…certainly more reliable.

Lol, my Girl loves the printer, I am having her build one with me.

Women only do this when they’re getting jealous of the time you’re spending on something else and not paying attention to them. My guess is that she’s under 30. My first wife was like this, and would do stupid crap like sneak behind the desk and unplug my computer in the middle of work.

Oh, it’s said with a knowing smirk. All I have to do is ask which ‘Of the American Revolution’ group she’s working on (Daughters, Children, or one of a couple other genealogical societies) and she realizes this street goes both ways.

She started liking the printer when it started making money for us.

@Willie_Zenk I am almost at that point

@Willie_Zenk , how’s it making money for you? I’m curious. It’s making me money via being a consultant and employee for a company building them.

I would say the printer is the only reason the wife is around still… Haha.
$ - I’m close to wrapping up my big bed, dual head… Think I’m going to try to offer proto services to see what happens.

Well they are like women:
Complicated
Require attention to perform properly
Randomly leave you saying WTF…
You can’t bring yourself to leave them …

Need I go on ?

@ThantiK I work at a large company with a lot of engineers. As soon as they hear I have a 3D printer, they approach me about some little project they have. I generally charge 50% of the Shapeways sandstone price. I’m not making tons, but it has great margins–easily covering materials. I also do some design work for those who want to print something a little more intricate. My intent was never to make money, it just happened. My biggest customer just bought his own printer though, so it should slow down. Soon, I might be able to work on my own projects in my spare time, instead of other people’s.

Ew, did you have to say, “… how much time I spend ON it.”? :slight_smile:

Would it help if I told you I think it changed my eyeglass prescription?

@ThantiK
yes, that would explain the "first’.

To be fair Mike, most of us were ‘seduced’ by the promises of what ‘she’ would do for us !

Mine refers to mine as ‘The Printress’.

I think she gets a bit jealous when I spend too much time in the garage tinkering with it. She’s definitely started to get more excited about the possibilities it opens up

I am the wife who spends more time 3d printing than her husband. Does this mean that I’ve got a toy boy!

@Jo_Bigger how about your prints charming?

@Tim_Rastall very good :slight_smile:

@Jo_Bigger there’s one in every crowd. Use your powers only for good. :slight_smile:
