Don’t wanna count my chickens before they hatch but I think I solved extruder clicking issue. Turns out the grub screw in the pinion was not catching on the motor shaft. Went ahead and replaced the screw with a fresh new one and I’m 10 minutes into a new print and all looks good. Running an 8 hr print. Time will tell…
put a drop of thread lock … these things come loose due to motor vibrations… alternatively a drop of ca glue would fix it permanently
Print a nail cutter and use it.
Hahahahaha
@Jeff_Leel
Yea yea got to get on that
@Jeff_Leel Unfortunately FFF printers, due to their resolution and materials limitations, are probably the least efficient way to make nail clippers.
Actually any DIY manufacturing of nail clippers would be highly inefficient.
I would consider suggesting the purchasing of such clippers to Kenneth, since that would probably be the most ideal solution in what I would suppose of his situation.
Hehehe as I have plenty around the house…I think I’m good
Does your motor shaft have a flat spot? I never trust a grub screw on a round shaft. If it doesn’t, I’d file a flat spot for the grub screw. Doesn’t have to be all that deep to be effective. Even 1 mm will do the trick.
Then as everyone suggested, use the nail clippers.
*use the thread lock.
Bloody autocorrect…
Bababahahahahahah. Thanks for the advice on both accounts.

Okay I was just trolling before, but I think long fingernails are somewhat helpful in 3d printing. You can scrape off the skirts without needing a metal scraper. You’re also less likely to leave finger/skin oils on the bed if you pick things up with your fingernails.
