DQ860MA stepper driver is not working

Hi,

I’ve set up my Smoothieboard yesterday with 4 external stepper drivers (DQ860MA).

Unfortunately one of the stepper drivers stopped working after I’ve changed the microstepping settings.
To make sure its the driver i swaped 2 drives and the error moved with it.
I opened the cover to check that there is nothing blown up but everything looks fine!?
Even the LED indicator shows green and not red.

Has anybody an idea what i can check or where the problem can come from?

When you say it stopped working, do you mean the motor doesn’t turn at all?
Check the module connection to the smoothieboard- it is easy to shift those by a pin. Also check the wires to make sure none came out of the screw terminal on the stepper module.
Did you happen to change the microstepping while it was running?
After you changed the microstepping setting on the driver module, did you update config.txt and reset the smoothieboard?
Did you check to make sure the microstepping setting on the module agrees with the setting in config.txt?

Hi,

sorry for the late answer but wikidot does not notify when a post get answered :-/
I eliminated all possible errors by swapping all parts until i found out that the driver must be the problem.
Of course i changed the settings only in standstill without power supplied to the driver!
All other drivers work with the same switch settings, so i can say for sure that this is not the problem.

Anyway, i convinced the chinaman to send me a new one
