Hi. Does anyone know how to get Dual Y on a AZSMZ board. I have tried using a splitter cable for the motors but the driver A4988 get super hot immediately. Tried lowering and increasing the V but nothing happens. My steppers are 1.68A.
Maybe there is a way to use the extruder pins as i dont need them.
Any help is appreciated

Hello.
For support for AZSMZ, I recommend you contact the seller directly instead of the Smoothie community ( AZSMZ has no connection to this community ).
About your problem : two 1.68A steppers mean 3.36A total current.
The drivers on the AZSMZ have a *theorical* maximum of 2A, but because they use “pololu”-type designs, you are unlikely to be able to run them at more than 1.4A.
In any case, you can’t set the value higher than somewhere around 1.4A, which means your motors will be extremely under-powered ( and still heat quite a lot ).
There is no way to tell the firmware to use the extruder’s driver to drive Y.
