E3D Lite6 effector assembly complete. Ready to do some printing.
What connector is that?
Did you just bore that D sub connector and added 2 beefier pins? I wanna steal this idea.
@Step_Cia D-Sub 7W2
@Frank_Gonn You can buy them like that it’s a mixed contact D-Sub 7W2 the beefier pins have to be bought separately.
Very impressive effector design! It looks very ‘effective’…
No need for the beefy pins like that. A 24v 20w is going to use under an amp worth of current, which is practically nothing. Micro USB cables almost carry that much current (a Pi with a 3A USB supply…is pretty common, which is 15W.)
Are those side fans the part cooling fans? Being ducted almost 90 degrees? Should be noted that axial fans don’t do well against high back pressure as the air tends to just flow back instead of along the duct. You should consider a smaller blower style fan instead as those can handle much more back pressure. Something like this: http://www.robotdigg.com/product/218/12V-or-24V-4020-Turbine-Fan
or this: https://www.seemecnc.com/products/30mm-x-10mm-blower-fan
Otherwise, very cool design
@ThantiK I’m using 12V 40W so 3.3A but still yes completely oversized. It was a decision made long ago when I planned to do all kinds of things with the printer like attaching spindels etc. which never happened…
@Mike_Kelly_Mike_Make I didn’t know that, yes it’s 90°, but it seems to work good enough for now. I would have used a radial fan, but I couldn’t find one small enough (30 mm limit).
I bought these from Ali still waiting but it’s 5V slightly bigger than 30mm though…
[Edit] oops remove the link for now
@Step_Cia that link leads to your order in your account without your login I can’t really see anything.
Edit: I managed to find them by productId. 35 mm should still work and it would be even slimmer than the current version I might just give it a try.
@Mike_Kelly_Mike_Make I might just have to get the seemecnc fan that is exactly what I was looking for thank you.
@Kai_Behrends What did you use for that? It looks like a Molex pin I think.
@Frank_Gonn both the plug and pin are made by Conec.

Once again, nice work!
Very compact
Just got these today
took exactly 10 days. The label says “made in japan” not sure if it’s true…
missing/deleted image from Google+
@Step_Cia 10 days from Ali is quick shipping to germany seems to be normal between 3 and 4 weeks. But I also just ordered there. While I like the fan from seemecnc, shipping to germany costs more than the parts…
This is what I ordered:
