Electronics for 3D printers is getting more and more complex. A second extruder is standard till end of this year. Also there is user demand for more comfort functions like graphics LCD which shows the printing progress and stand alone printing via SD card. With the available control electronics all of this is possible right now by the cost of a cable mess between several expansion boards and often incompatibilities between the different expansion boards.
A new electronics which cleans up with this, without loosing comfort is started at the crowd funding platform Indiegogo. It is called RepRap easy electronics. It comes with dual extruder support plus graphics LCD, SD card printing and nice user interface. Printer cable configuration is from now on a job of minutes not hours or days!
