Elon Musk Creates Rocket Parts With the Wave of a Hand
We knew SpaceX CEO Elon Musk was powerful, but now he’s gone all Ironman on us. Last week on Twitter he posted a teaser, saying, “Will post video of designing a rocket part with hand gestures & immediately printing in titanium.”
Very innovative but precision would be a factor especially since the human Hand can’t stay still… Although I could see computer artists in the future with buff biceps from using this all day
@Shachar_Weis , the leap motion has a terrible field of view, which makes getting your fingers in the right position a terrible pain in the ass. Not to mention the drivers are locked behind this stupid damn registration page, and other people I know have had their devices completely locked up because it forced a firmware update, but the update is locked in a DRM fashion per-device, and if it screws up, the device will simply refuse to operate. The company that made the leap motion is a terrible, horribly run company that doesn’t deserve peoples business at this point in time.
They also showed the ability to get a point-cloud during the kickstarter, but apparently this is only internally available and unable to be used for development via their API.
