Ever wanted to split a part in half to print, but dont feel like firing up blender or fiddling with your modelling software? This page shows how to split a part by sinking it through the bed in the slicer.
The ability to do this exists in most slicers. I do this all the time with slic3r

That’s a really clever hack!
I thought about trying this but assumed that it wouldn’t work. I know Cura had a feature that puts the print on the bed. I could disabled that and I bet it would work. This seems like a great idea.
I do it regularly with Flashprint.
You can choose the axis to cut, the angle and such. Don’t even have to move thr part below thr bed
I like to do it in blender (some use meshmixer) because then it lets you also make holes for alignment pins.
