Evolution of a print. Working on a new prototype.

Evolution of a print.

Working on a new prototype. Industrial design is hard!

You can see the progression. I started with the piece on its side but the bridging was too bad. Next I added internal vanes to add support. Better but still bad.

So I took a chance and printed it on its back. Not bad, though at 60° from vertical its still too steep. You can see some print errors. So I changed the model to 45° . Much Much better.

which printer are you using?

PrinterBot Simple

nice, whats did you use to make the design?

OpenSCAD. I don’t really know what doing but it sure is fun.

If you have some experience with VBA you may find this useful
