Exciting news from Taulman folks.
They’ve developed a new nylon copolymer with the intent to reduce some of the barriers for nylon printing while maintaining the excellent inter-layer bonding and impact resistance of nylon.
These features apparently include: better bed adhesion (no more garolite), drastically reduced water absorption and a comparable price point to premium ABS (tbc).
I’m fortunate enough to be getting a test roll and I’ll posting my review of the product on G+ in the coming months.
Really great to see @Tom_Martz and team innovating in the materials space once again :D

Looking forward to your report!
Would you print my fingers for the hands that I need to build. i need to print 4 fingers and 2 thumbs.
Sure @Bob_Roth I don’t have ‘Bridge’ just yet but I have a roll of 618 and a roll of 645. I’ll PM you my email address.
Looking forward to that being released.
I will pay for printing. How much for each finger. Each finger is 4 pieces. You can see them on my profile.
@Bob_Roth No need to pay if it’s for a prostheses, I assume your doing it for free for someone? I see one picture of a finger on your profile. Looks reasonably doable. Did you get my message, it should have popped up on your alerts, as I’m not in your circles, it’ll probably be in the ‘everything else’ section at the bottom of the alerts window.
Yes it is for 2 different people. Douglas Swerka and Hugo Villarreal. Yes I am doing it free. Thank you. I will send STL files and or Solid Works.
@Bob_Roth STEP or IGES ideally. Solid works is fine if not
@Tim_Rastall Your evaluation sample of “Bridge” will include an extra 618 and 645 for @Bob_Roth efforts. We work with several Free Clinics overseas and it usually takes about 3 or more prints to get a excellent fit dialed in.
Wow. You all are very much appreciated.
@Bob_Roth If you ever need more help E3D will print as many prosthetics parts as we’re capable of putting out. We’ve got a print farm, and a lot of printing capacity. We’re quite busy most of the time, but we can definitely get hundreds of parts done in a single 24 hr period. We’ve got some Bridge and other Nylons from @Tom_Martz .
I’ll defer to @Sanjay_Mortimer in this case then @Bob_Roth , if nothing else, e3d will probably get it done quicker as they don’t have to fit printer time in around work and child care
Dang, you guys rock
