Extruder hitting high spots? What do I do? Come on print!
You mean bumping into the print when you get above a certain levels? Add a Z hop when retracting. I needed to do that as well. I’ve since set my Z hop to .2 mm and it hasn’t knocked over a tall print since.
@John_Berger will do
Full tường nhé @u
Hey. Try to increase infill or change infill pattern. Lowering temp several degrees might help.
Z hop will work but that’s just treating symptoms not real disease… imho
Good luck print!
I see legs are you thing. lol
I’ve been running into problem with infill getting"bumpy." I was running boxes, but now I’m going to try lines. The “intersection” point would bump upwards so hopefully only having line infills will alleviate that.
@Cameron_Spiller creality ender4, sliced with repetier
@Anton_Chekhov thanks
Oh how I noticed it was infill for me… I had CuraEngine (in RepetierHost) do automatic infills and I think above 25% infill, it starts using alternating lines instead of drawing boxes every layer. So when I bumped up to 30% I’d have far fewer issues.
@Francis_Lee ok, yea I’m at 20% right now. So the plan for tonight is to lower the temp. Turn up the infill, change the pattern? (Maybe) and maybe try the z drop
Oh… Well something thin like those legs probably needs more than 20%. But yes, change the infill to lines or something that won’t intersect on the same layer.
Z-hop will make interesting artifacts too, sometimes it helps, sometimes it hinders.
For example, lifting a nozzle before jumping to another region can cause a “cat ear” to appear on that edge that it’s jumping from. Sometimes it helps though.
You’re going to have to experiment a bit, but your plan is a good start.
Alrighty, made some your guys recommended changes, I also slowed doun the infill and pulled off the auto leveling sensor! Print! The new settings took it from 6 hrs to 10?
Wow that’s slow!
@Francis_Lee it is going to be about a foot tall! I’m going with quality takes time on this one? I need a successful print, so my freinds don’t think I’m a looser! Lol I don’t have any friends? I’m gonna print one, I’ll call her hilly 2.0 in honor of that lady I’ve been married to for the last 23 years!
Good luck on this run! Hope it completes, or at least gets further.
@Francis_Lee thanks bud, so far, this is the best base yet, new base layer setting is good. I need to remember to turn down the heat, repetier doesn’t have differential extruder temps? I’m hitting the base layers at 210, then I’ll turn it down to 195 . This is the best looking base yet! Fingers crossed
