Fairly odd problem on my little printer (ramps 1.4 / Marlin / Cura / Pronterface) It will occasionally hang during a print and simply say something along the lines of com port error. I can pause and re home the print head it when I resume it moved the head back to where is was but it wont continue printing. If I reset it again prints no problem.

Has anyone had this - My two top contenders for the source is Marlin firmware my Arduino.

Tried another good quality USB cable? There’s a lot of crappy cables out there.

Baud rate?

Noisy environment with a fluroscent lamp close by?

Personally I’d start with the first suggestion.

Cable a good call. I had it plugged into another usb port than usual so reverted and will also try another cable. But I think you may have something with baud rate. Going to drop that a little as well

I only print from SD cards now because of this. Nothing worse than an 8 print ruined at 7 hours because of a crash kids or the cat.

Ive had some issues with the sd cards. Reprinted the failed print and it went off no problem via another usb port. Printed the same thing to make sure it wasnt a bug in the gcode. Thanks for the feedback.
