Fastest ive gotten this to run

That looks pretty good!

Yeah this is gonna take 2 hours at 121% scale. Before changing some settings it took 5 hours at 100% scale lol

Oh come on you can’t post this and not tell us the print speed

Print speed is set to 100mm/s but due to the constant changes in direction it might not be going past 60

It appears to be going faster than 60 mm/s. Also when it slows down the print speed it shows the feedrate percentage on the bottom right of the LCD.

Mine always shows 100%

Wonder if it can do 150mm/s…

That’s interesting. I’ll have to check next time I do a vase-mode print.

I’d expect it to be able to push 150 mm/s. If you have the Z axis braced you might be able to get past 200 mm/s.

This is a much stiffer frame. My only concern at higher speeds is skipped steps or the belt slipping

Cool

Printer whisperer :relieved:

with Prusa or Corexy printers you wont be able to go so much more faster than above 100mm/s as the print will not be good anymore. There is too much mass to move, which will make ringing etc.

Only with a delta style printer print speeds of 200mm/s or more can be achieved without sacrificing print quality but this also only with heavily tweaked and modified printer.

Don’t forget the acceleration and firmware max limits will limit higher speeds so make sure you up those values if you want to go faster. I had my large corexy going so fast it was shaking the table.

And some slicers in case mode will be at a certain % of the max speed. In Simplify3D I set the outer perimeter speed to 100% so it won’t slow down because in case mode everything is a perimeter and the default settings usually tell the printer to slow down for the outside perimeter.

I set all my speeds to 150 just to be safe. And im using slic3r where would i go to adjust the accelerwtion and firmware max limits? Or would that be something i need to do in the firmware of the printer itself?

I think if you add racing pinstripes some where on the machine, it will definitely print faster. Scientifically proven to increase speed.
