FastLED made my first Arduino project amazingly easy. Thank you!

Wow, looks great! My first Arduino project wasn’t nearly as impressive!
That’s really cool, well done
Thanks! I stewed on this for a while and have a background in IT which made it easier. I learned a lot!
Next up is research on whether I can talk to WS2818 through Arduino…and hopefully FastLED
Oooh beautiful. What is the body made out of? Any good tips for working with fiber optics?
Thanks!
Haha! The bell is a punch bowl from Party City. It needs work as I think this will be a perpetual work in progress.
For the fiber, I used solid core side glow 3mm from wiedamark. I wish the NeoPixels were brighter but I was generally happy.
The challenges were mostly mechanical in getting the fiber to seat against the face of the LED for maximum illumination. For that, I used a simple 3D printed part and tiny strong hair rubber bands to create a springy tension.
I’ve used the 3 watt Pixies from adafruit with side glow fiber. I just got a good flat end and attached it with a surrounding blob of sugru. Holds on fine, leaves the back open for cooling.
Very nice Project do you have somewhere some more pictures? i would be interested for a look inside the bowl and your fibeglass mounts…
what!? so nice this jelly is. good work buddy.
really cool! What did you use for the fibers?
