Feel free to correct my grammer. But my friend and my mind told me ’ hey you should build a 3D printer’ I know right straight to the point with them. But the thing is I don’t know exactly where to start for instructions to build and understanding how a 3D printer work. I’m looking for honest and fluent answers really , like I said feel free to correct my spelling I’d say it again feel free to drop a bomb of complexity on to my screen. (P.s no I’m not on happy pills I’m just acting to be professional really.)
The RepRap project has lots of information available if you want to build your own.
@Gopindra_Hannigan neat. Do have any links to spare?
Just google it.
Cool. Thanks man .
@Gopindra_Hannigan
I can promise you that building it yourself can be rewarding, and a curse. You will be way over budget by the time you finish, and likely rebuild the machine 2 or 3 times.
You cannot skimp on the details, or else you will end up with headaches or worse, property damage.
With that said, do your research. Research everything. Belts and belt tension. Linear motion and deflection. Power calculations. Frame deflection. Learn what forces are where and how to control them. Cad design.
Or, buy a good kit and toy around with it. Instructions comes with the kit, but no 3d printer guarantees quality results. Be prepared to Google a lot of things.
Here is a great starter with a big print bed and good quality.

This will show you a lot of printer designs that people have built.
@Lukas_Mathis yeah I have heard of those issues. But I have had zero problems with mine. As for a first, it’s a good parts lot, especially for the price.
Good article. Yeah for a starter you are right not good. But if you know what to do it is an easy fix to change out wires for proper gauge and firmware, it’s not that bad and works great. As for any DIY you better have an understanding of power flow and electronics anyways.
I’ve had newbies build our printrbot Smalls ($298) w good results. We are a strong brand w great customer support and are very engaged in this community. We also tell the truth about 3d printing (it’s hard unless you get our Simple Pro ;)… and I never mind anyone who chooses a different brand! We are all in this together.
These folks are a great resource. Listen to the experts, but take everyone, including me, w a grain of salt… we all have bias
it’s human.
