Fibonacci v1 is off to a new home, so of course I had to build another. :slight_smile: Version 2 has the same physical layout as v3d, but in a 12" x 12" x 2.5" square white frame with a metal face. I completed polar mapping, and am working on new patterns that utilize it. Hi Jason, too lazy to dig through the older post… what are your LEDs ? MCU ? How exactly did you draw that pattern and place them LEDs ?

Hey JP, it’s 100 x 8mm WS2812, Teensy 3.2, IR remote. I made the pattern with math and science. :slight_smile: Here’s a great video that explains it better than I can: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOIP_Z_-0Hs (warning: watching this video can lead to hours of watching awesome Vi Hart videos).

I drilled the holes manually with a drill press. The holes are just big enough for the LEDs to fit snugly, used a hot glue gun to make sure they stay. I used wood for v1 and v3d, and the LEDs are just friction fit.

You should set the camera to manual focus, so it doesn’t constantly try to refocus like it does (assuming you can actually do that.) Other than that, awesome build. Love the colors and patterns.

Thanks! Yeah, I’ve been meaning to look for a good digital camcorder with manual focus. I’ve been using my phone (Nexus 5), which doesn’t seem to have the option.

Yeah that’s why I said, assuming you had that option. With most (all?) phones being auto focus, you’re kinda stuck with that.

Actually, I just found “Open Camera” that provides manual exposure and focus controls on the Nexus 5 and other Android phones. Now I have to re-shoot all of my videos… :slight_smile: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera
