@Tim_Rastall I want to politely disagree with your statement on the guitar tuners being non adjusting. I have a technique for that. I am changing my frame and finally got my new power supply. I will be tearing this thing down and recording the reconstruction in phases. In this video series I will be showing my fine tuning method. For those trying this now. its super easy for my z : raise the z to the max then tighten the tuners to the same harmonics when plucked. as for x and y pick an axis then pick a side use this side. turning the rods move to the side you chose. Use a spacer. I use the carriage. Move the carriage to the far end and tighten the tuner. repeat at the other end. move up and down the axis several times to even the tension coiled around the rod repeat until the spectra stops stretching and maintains a higher note. use the rods and calipers to fine tune to as close to equal distant on both sides. If it needs to move to an end move to that side and tighten the tuner on that side. move to the opposite side and re-tighten. rinse and repeat until satisfied. I have used this method and with a little practice its muscle memory.
@D_Rob fair enough, as soon as you’ve got it printing stuff I’ll stop fretting, but I’ve too much personal bitter experience of things that appear to work well during build and test having issues once the bot has been running for some time. Incidentally, I think the guitar pegs are a great idea, I see they are being used on the Simpson too.
Awesome I hope everyone moves to tuners
I realize my instructions above are hard to follow for this I apologize. I will get something better asap
Hey gang… I’m Carey with Misumi, I posted the original offer on @reddit for Misumi… I came across this post and wanted to offer that if you have questions about your specific order, I’d love to help get the answer… just send an email to my work account: cstraetz@misumiusa.com.
Thanks for the great support. By the way, @Mike_Miller … this stunt was wildly popular.
Broke a few Misumi records in February. YAY!
@Carey_Straetz , though a lot of misumi stuff is quite expensive, I will certainly be getting more stuff in the future! Does there happen to be a rep in the Central Florida area? I’ve been telling quite a few people about this offer at my hackerspace, and a lot of them are kind of browsing and putting together their wishlists. Would be awesome if the local rep saw the stuff we’re doing.
I’ll slap your logo on it somewhere while I’m out doing demos.
Hey, yes I’m sure we have a rep there, @ThantiK , I’m not sure who though. Shoot me a quick email with the details to my work account and I can have someone call you!
@Carey_Straetz Y’all have done great by me. I will certainly be shopping you with my next project (and they tend to be varied and odd).
Awesome to hear @Mike_Miller !
