Filament Cooling: I was printing the Boat Stress Printing model, but when the printer are ending the roof’s pilars, then everything goes wrong. The pilars breaks, it seems that the filament layer is not cooled down enough before the next layer is applied. I have a Prusa i3. Should I always print with a fan forcing air in the layer being extruded?
If you’re using PLA, a part-cooling fan is almost always a good idea after the first layer or two. Even just having a fan on the whole time is a good default.
It is ABS back. I’ll implement a fan 60mm direct blowing to the printing after the first layers and see what will be the result. Thank you
@Bruno_Salvador No, cooling fans for ABS only cause more warping and poor interlayer adhesion.
Sounds like @shauki ’s assumption was closer to the cause: over extrusion. You can try dialing back your flow rate, but the ultimate fox is probably correctly calibrating your extruder.
