Looking good man. Glad to be of some help. Although I think you help me with machining more than I help you.
Good job man machine is doing work!
Hi Alex, What spindle are you using there mate ?
@mattgatenby Funny that you ask, because the guy who just commented above you is the one who gave it to me. I’m forever grateful @D_Wilson !!!
It’s a 1.5Kw watercooled Chinese spindle.
Your my boy man! I do what I can
Cheers lads
fantastic results!
How heavy is that spindle and how is the Z holding up to all that weight?
If you don’t mind me asking what is your max speed and accel settings for your Z too as I am trying to get a slightly smaller spindle mounted this week on my router.
@Jestah_Carnie That spindle is really heavy, I’m not even sure how heavy it is with the water running, and to be honest, at first I didn’t think even a small Nema 23 was going to be able to lift it. I was pleasantly proven wrong.
Are you using TinyG? Here are my TinyG settings: http://pastebin.com/zCD9hKZk
Please let us know how the new router works out for you!
@Alex_Lee The 2.2kw spindles are HUGE so that gives me a little hope as I am only planning to run a 800w version at 3kg. I got the ally mount with it but after seeing that it is a little over a 1kg I am going to redesign a mount using a printed packer, band clamps and 5mm ally plate as weight saving is key for my next router head.
Thanks for the settings I am running DRV8255 drives on a CNCsheild and will I will keep you updated on my progress !
Everything is looking so good! Love to see you getting so much use out of Roxy!
