Finally doing WiFi, Yeah!!!
Still working on FastLed but think it is getting better.
Oh yea! very sweet. Love the sequence around 2:15 where the hits and flashes with fades start. Vixen?
@Trey_Coursey Yeah so far Vixen since I am just starting out.
Looks like a great start! You see my other post about how Universes work? Any light you can shed for me? If you know.
@Darren_Hedlund what code did you end up with? I’ve been banging my head for a while now and can’t get anything to compile or work. Was looking over Jared and Chris’s code but nothing is coming together. Any chance you could share what you have running here on your esp?
Great work !!
@Darren_Hedlund really hoping to get something to work on my end. Just not having any luck. Was there a trick to what you got working here?
Many tricks in fact. I will post a listing
@Darren_Hedlund That would be awesome! I really appreciate it. Didn’t want to bother you over the holidays and thought maybe you didn’t want to share, so didn’t want to bug you any more! Thanks again.
@Trey_Coursey Yeah, was knee deep in the holidays. Now back to the fun stuff.
@Darren_Hedlund I’m itchin to go…when you get a chance
Okay going to try to walk you through steps I have to done to work up to Using Fast LED thought WiFi and sending data to it for sequencing music.
First off, you can test everything with a prebuild version with ESPixelStick https://github.com/forkineye/ESPixelStick/releases
First off, you need to learn a bit about sending data with music. I have been testing with Vixen http://www.vixenlights.com/
Now you can first start off with sending the light sequences via the USB to you ESP follow this http://blog.huntgang.com/2014/11/08/vixen-lights-3-x-arduino-pixel-controller-ws2812b/
I will post more on E1.31 via wireless.
@Darren_Hedlund oh I thought you had to do something either with the forkineye pixelstick or something. I didn’t realize you were able to use it straight away on the ESP8266 node mcu board. Did you upload the FIRMWARE or just the sketch? That was one thing that scared me a bit…didn’t want to mess the board up completely but having firmware it didn’t like etc…
Very familiar with Vixen, xLights and Universes etc. Just need something on the other end to accept that data
Thanks for anymore info you can share, step by step or whatever. If I just upload the pixelstick firmware and run those steps I’m good.
My pixels are 2801’s which are not available on his firmware I don’t think. Might have to do something there, not sure. Thanks again.
I have 450 pixels so far. I was able to get the source to work as well, but started testing with the firmware. It will not hurt anything at all to upload it.
